Overview

The tour starts at the Sihlquai bus terminal in Zurich with a guided coach trip around the city's main sights. From Zurich, the coach travels along Lake Zurich to Rapperswil, where visitors spend about seventy-five minutes exploring the castle, rose gardens, and deer park. There is also free time to walk through the picturesque old town. Next, the tour continues to Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein, with about forty minutes of leisure time to explore the town. Visitors may choose to visit the local Post Office, known for its collectible stamps. After Vaduz, the coach drives through the Rhine Valley to Maienfeld, the setting of the Heidi stories and part of the Heidiland region. During the summer months, the tour includes a forty-minute visit to Heididorf, a village with traditional mountain houses, a shop, and goats. Admission to the Heidi House is optional. In winter months, when Heididorf is closed, the tour stops instead at Werdenberg, a small Swiss village, for about thirty minutes. The return trip to Zurich follows the banks of Lake Walen, passing the Churfirsten mountain range. Before returning, the coach crosses the Ricken Pass, offering panoramic views of the Alps, and passes through the Toggenburg region, known for its hills and valleys. The full-day tour lasts about seven and a half hours and includes onboard WiFi, air conditioning, and a professional guide. Food, drinks, hotel transfers, and the optional Heidi House admission are not included.
