The tour lasts about six hours and starts at the marina in Puerto del Rey where guests board a catamaran. While sailing away from Fajardo, passengers see the El Yunque mountains and the local coastline, including beaches, a yacht harbor, and a nature preserve. Drinks such as rum punch, piña coladas, soda, juice, and iced tea are available from the onboard bar. After approximately one hour on the sea, the boat anchors at Cayo Icacos, which is part of the La Cordillera Keys Nature Reserve. Depending on sea conditions, the captain may take the boat to Palominitos island instead. Visitors can snorkel using provided masks, fins, and floating devices, swim, or relax on the beach. Around midday, a deli-style lunch buffet is served on the boat featuring freshly baked bread, sliced meats and cheeses, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, pasta salad, chicken salad, coleslaw, bean salad, chips, cookies, and fresh fruit. Following lunch, the boat moves to a nearby reef for further snorkeling. Marine life such as rays, octopuses, colorful fish, and corals can be observed. Guests who prefer not to swim can view underwater scenes through glass windows or use the boat’s water slide.
