Overview

This day trip lasts about 10 and a half hours and starts in Tbilisi. The guide meets the group at 8:30 AM in front of Avlabari Metro Station, then directs you to the company office for check-in. The tour proceeds by comfortable vehicle through several key locations. The first photo stop is the Zhinvali Water Reservoir, known for its greenish water and mountain forest surroundings. Next, the tour visits the Ananuri fortress complex, a well-preserved medieval site featuring stone carvings and frescoes. After that, there is a break in Pasanauri where you can eat local mountain dishes like khinkali at a traditional Georgian restaurant. The trip continues to Gudauri, where you can taste various alpine honeys made from local flowers and plants. Then you visit the Russian Georgian Friendship Monument, a large stone arch built in 1983 overlooking Devil’s Valley. Here, there is time to try glintwine and optional mountain activities such as riding quad bikes or snowmobiles. The final stop is Gergeti Trinity Church, the highest cross-cupola church in Georgia, located at an elevation near Mount Kazbegi (5047 meters). The church offers views of Stephantsminda town and surrounding peaks. Transportation, a professional guide, and driver costs are included, but food, drinks, and the 4WD ride from Kazbegi to Gergeti Church (paid locally) are not. The tour may be affected by seasonal road closures and traffic delays.
