Overview

This half-day snorkel trip lasts about three and a half hours and explores two reef locations within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. The captain selects the stops based on daily conditions, so specific reefs like Molasses, Elbow, French Reef, or the Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks may be visited, but no particular site is guaranteed. These reefs are part of the third largest living coral reef system in the world and the only one in the United States. During the trip, participants can expect to see marine life such as turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels, and various fish species. Snorkeling equipment, including a snorkel vest and reef safe sunscreen, is provided along with bottled water. Scuba diving is also available on these trips as an option. To reduce plastic waste, guests are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles as water coolers are available on board and at the shop.

Florida Keys Reef Snorkeling

This guided trip includes snorkeling at two locations within Pennekamp State Park and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, which together form the only living coral reef in the U.S. and the world's third-largest living reef system. Participants might see dolphins, sharks, turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels, and various fish species. The exact snorkeling spots cannot be guaranteed, and the use of full-face masks is prohibited. If weather conditions are unsafe, the excursion will switch to snorkeling in a mangrove area with a distinct ecosystem. Guests who choose not to snorkel may remain on the boat deck to enjoy the ride. A liability waiver must be signed by a parent or legal guardian for all minors before the trip if the parent or guardian is not present. The tour requires a 24-hour cancellation notice; no refunds or rescheduling will be provided for no-shows or late cancellations. Participants dissatisfied with their experience can contact management after disembarking for assistance.
