Overview

This full-day bus tour from Krakow covers two major historical sites: Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The day lasts about 12 hours and includes hotel pickup and drop-off by an air-conditioned minivan. You will receive headphones to hear the driver/guide clearly throughout the trip. First, travel about 50 kilometers west to the town of Oświęcim to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau. At Auschwitz I, join an English-language guided tour provided by the museum staff lasting around two and a half hours. After the first camp, the tour continues to Auschwitz II-Birkenau, approximately 2 kilometers away, where you will spend about one hour with the same guide. Note that bags larger than 30x20x10 cm are not allowed, and all visitors must go through security checks before entering. Afterwards, return toward Krakow to visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of the oldest salt mines still in operation, with over 700 years of history. You will go down a wooden stairway with 378 steps to reach the first level, 64 meters underground. Then, take an English guided tour covering a 2.5-kilometer route through chambers and corridors up to 140 meters deep. The tour lasts about two and a half hours and ends with a lift ride back to the surface. Food and drinks, including lunch, are not included in the price.
