Overview

This three-hour group ATV tour starts at the private La Naciente farm near La Fortuna town. The tour begins with a safety briefing and a short practice ride on the ATVs to ensure participants are comfortable with the controls. Riders then follow muddy trails through primary rainforest, passing through forest paths where local wildlife can be seen, including the chance to spot Watusi bulls near Quebrada Platanillo, a micro-basin of the Arenal River. Along the way, participants will have the opportunity to apply natural volcanic mud from a stream as a mud mask. The route continues to the village of La Guaria, where riders visit its small church and historic pulpería, reflecting local rural culture. The trail then leads to the Arenal River, where there is a break for photos and an optional swim in the clear water while enjoying views of the Arenal Volcano. On the return trip, the group stops at Rancho La Poza for a snack and relaxation by the outdoor pool. The tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off, a local guide, bottled water, snacks, helmet use, and all taxes and fees. Lunch and gratuities are not included. Closed shoes and comfortable clothing are required, and a change of clothes is recommended. The muddy river mud is natural and not a spa treatment. Regular rain does not cancel the tour, but thunderstorms may cause delays or changes. Drivers must be at least 14 years old, and passengers must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult.
