Overview

This full-day private tour starts early with a hotel pickup in Cairo or Giza around 6:00 AM. You’ll be driven to Cairo International Airport to catch a one-hour flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, a guide will meet you and take you by private air-conditioned vehicle to the West Bank of Luxor. The first stop is the Valley of the Kings, where you can explore the rock-cut tombs of pharaohs and nobles from the 16th to 11th century BC. Next, visit the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a three-terraced structure built during the Eighteenth Dynasty, rising from the desert floor into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Then you will go to Medinet Habu, the burial temple of Ramses III, known for its large entrance and carvings of the pharaoh punishing prisoners. Afterwards, see the Colossi of Memnon and the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III nearby, followed by a lunch break at a local restaurant. Later, take a traditional felucca boat on the Nile River to relax and enjoy views of Luxor. The tour continues on the East Bank with visits to Karnak Temple, dedicated to the god Amun, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu, and then Luxor Temple, built by Amenhotep III and completed by Ramses II. At the end of the day, you will be transferred to Luxor International Airport for the return flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, a driver will meet you and bring you back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza. The entire tour lasts about 14 and a half hours and includes flights, private transportation, a professional Egyptologist guide, lunch, air conditioning, and the felucca ride. Entrance fees to the sites are not included.
