This activity takes place indoors in the Asakusa district of Tokyo, Japan. Each participant makes their own Japanese knife by first choosing the type of knife to create. Over about 90 minutes, they shape and sharpen the blade. Then, they attach a custom Magnolia wood handle using a hammer. Participants engrave their name in Japanese on the handle. Tea and coffee are provided during the session. A guide is present throughout to assist with the process. All fees and taxes are included. Each participant receives a custom-designed key-holder as a gift. Optional knife care kits are available for purchase. Larger knives are not included in this workshop.
