Book on Viator Confirmed right away, but you pay full price.$260This tour is based on exploring the marine environment of Maui’s Makena area using clear bottom kayaks, offering views of reefs and wildlife beneath the water. The tour runs for about three hours from 7am to 10am, taking advantage of calm early morning conditions. Participants meet the guide at Turtle Town in Makena, where they receive a safety briefing before launching their kayaks. During the trip, guests paddle over shallow reefs formed by 500-year-old lava formations. The tour includes an optional snorkeling section where participants can exit the kayaks to swim among turtles, manta rays, eels, octopus, and various tropical fish. The area is within a humpback whale sanctuary, so whales may be seen in winter months. Views of Haleakala volcano, the west Maui mountains, Molokini, and nearby islands are visible from the water. The tour is operated by a family and Coast Guard Veteran-owned company focused on safety. Snorkeling equipment, life jackets, bottled water, and snacks are provided. There is no need for prior kayaking or snorkeling experience. Photo packages are available for purchase on the day of the tour.
