Overview

This small-group tour takes you through the McLaren Vale Wine Region, located about 45 minutes south of Adelaide. The tour lasts around eight hours and includes visits to four well-known local wineries, where you can taste a variety of wines including Shiraz, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and several Spanish and Italian grape varieties. The group size is limited to eight people to keep the experience personal. The tour includes transport with hotel pickup and drop-off from select locations in Adelaide or Glenelg. Along the way, you will pass Glenelg Beach, enjoying views of the Fleurieu Peninsula coastline and Gulf St Vincent. At Maxwell Wines, you spend about 45 minutes exploring the working winery and tasting award-winning wines and meads. Next, at Haselgrove Wines, you have a 60-minute wine tasting featuring small-batch, innovative wines. Lunch consists of a regional platter made with local produce, served with Richard Hamilton Estate wines on weekdays at the winery’s cellar door. On weekends, lunch is served at Hugo Wines. After lunch, there is a photo stop at the d'Arenberg Cube, a glass building designed to look like a Rubik’s Cube. The tour concludes with a 45-minute visit to a small family-owned winery offering more premium wines. Bottled water is provided throughout, and standard wine tasting fees are included. Tea, coffee, and gratuities are not included.
