Overview

The 3.5-hour Colombian Cacao Experience and Chocolate Workshop takes place at the Chocolate House in Laureles, Medellín. The session begins with a welcome featuring hot chocolate and cheese. Participants then toast cacao beans following Colombian tradition and peel cacao pods. A short cacao ceremony follows. Attendees drink a spicy ancestral cacao shot before grinding cacao into chocolate liquor, also known as cacao paste. Next, participants receive a chocolate exfoliation treatment for their hands. They then make artisanal Colombian chocolates called "bobos." A flavored cacao water is served before tempering 62% dark chocolate on marble surfaces. Each participant creates a personalized chocolate bar using various toppings, which they take home. The workshop concludes with a cacao cocktail mixed with rum. The tour is conducted in English or Spanish and is suitable for all weather conditions. Photography assistance is provided throughout the workshop. Aprons, utensils, molds, and ingredients are included for use during the chocolate-making process. WiFi is available on site, and snacks are provided. Booking is required in advance due to limited availability.
