The tour starts with a weather check one and a half hours before the scheduled departure time. If the weather is suitable, a hotel pickup in Queenstown is arranged about five minutes after the call. Guests may also choose to drive themselves to the hangar. After check-in, passengers board a small aircraft for a 40-minute scenic flight over Fiordland National Park, with views of mountains, lakes, and fiords. Every passenger is guaranteed a window seat. Upon arrival at Milford Sound, travelers transfer to a boat for a two-hour cruise along the full length of the fiord out to the Tasman Sea. Light refreshments are provided on board. A picnic lunch can be pre-ordered and given at the start of the cruise. Live commentary is offered throughout the cruise to provide information about the area.
