Overview

This guided small-group tour takes you across the Venetian Lagoon by private boat, offering a 5-hour cultural experience focused on Venice’s traditional crafts. You will start by traveling from Venice to Murano on a private water taxi, accompanied by an expert local guide who provides commentary via a high-quality headset. At Murano, you visit a selected glassblowing workshop where artisans demonstrate the glassmaking process using techniques dating back to the Middle Ages. You have time to admire the finished pieces in the gallery and can purchase souvenirs at a discount. After exploring Murano’s canals and its Byzantine church, the boat takes you to Burano. On Burano, you observe the island’s lacemaking tradition firsthand with a demonstration of hand-stitched lace. You can then visit the lace museum or enjoy the colorful houses that line the island’s canals. The tour finishes with a private boat ride back to Venice. Throughout the tour, you have opportunities to explore both islands at your own pace. The tour includes round-trip transport by private boat, glassmaking and lacemaking demonstrations, expert guide commentary via headset, and discounts on souvenirs. Hotel pickup and gratuities are not included. The tour covers moderate walking and runs in all weather conditions.
