Overview

This full-day small-group tour lasts about 12 hours and includes transport from Paris by air-conditioned minivan. The group visits Juno Beach where participants can walk on the sand where Canadian troops landed in June 1944. The tour also stops at Bernieres-sur-Mer to see Canada House, known as the first house freed in Normandy. At the Juno Beach Centre, an official guide leads the group inside two German bunkers that are otherwise closed to the public. Afterward, there is a visit to the museum at Juno Beach Centre, which offers detailed exhibits on the Canadian landings. The tour allows one hour of free time in Courseulles-sur-Mer for lunch, which is not included. The itinerary continues with a visit to the Bény-Sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery to honor the fallen soldiers. Participants then see Hell's Corner at Villons-les-Buissons, the furthest point inland reached by Canadian troops on D-Day, located about five miles from Caen. The day ends at Abbey d’Ardenne, where 20 Canadian soldiers were executed by members of the Hitler Youth in June 1944. All entrance fees are included, as well as a driver/guide and return transport.
