Overview

This bike tour in Osaka lasts about 5 to 6 hours and uses high-quality Trek hybrid bikes. You'll ride with an English-speaking guide through several key parts of the city, including stops at Osaka Castle, Shitennoji Temple, and the Shinsekai district. The route also passes by less touristy local spots chosen by the guide. The tour begins cycling through Nakanoshima Park, where you see landscaped gardens and historic buildings in the old business district. Next, you ride along the river at Kemasakuranomiya Park, enjoying the breeze and natural views. There is a short stop outside the Mint Museum to learn about its role in Japan's modernization, but no entry inside. You then spend time in Osaka Castle Park, riding through the greenery and stopping for photos and a guide explanation of the castle’s historical importance. There may be a chance to have ice cream here. After that, you visit Shitennoji Temple, Japan’s oldest Buddhist temple, to experience its calm atmosphere and hear about its significance. The tour continues to Shinsekai, a working-class neighborhood where you can take photos of the Tsutenkaku tower and see local street life, possibly sampling street food. At Tower Knives Osaka, meet a consultant to learn about the region’s knife-making history and try using a knife. The final stop is a brief visit to Namba Yasaka Shrine, where you can see prayers on wooden blocks and collect a good luck charm. Lunch and bottled water are included. Helmets come with the bike rental. The group size is small to keep the ride manageable. This tour is not suitable for children 12 and under or riders shorter than 140 cm. A vegetarian lunch option can be arranged if requested in advance.
