The tour begins with pickup from a hotel or riad in Marrakech between 7:45 and 8:00 in the morning. Departure from Marrakech is at 8:30 AM by air-conditioned minibus. The group travels to the village of Ouzoud in the High Atlas region, arriving after about two and a half hours. Upon arrival, participants follow a local guide on a moderate hike through olive groves to visit an argan oil cooperative where they learn about Berber culture. The hike continues along trails to a viewpoint overlooking the tallest waterfall in Morocco, allowing time for photos and to take in views of the cascades. After the hike, the group boards a traditional boat for a short ride on the pool at the base of the waterfalls. Following the boat trip, a late Berber lunch is served at a local restaurant with views of the falls; lunch is not included in the tour price. In the mid-afternoon, the minibus returns to Marrakech, arriving between 6:30 and 7:30 PM. The total duration of the tour is about 10 hours. Included are transportation by a modern 17-seat air-conditioned minibus, a local guide who speaks French, English, Spanish, and Arabic, an English-speaking driver, hotel or riad pickup, and the boat ride. Lunch and bottled water are not included. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for the moderate hike.
