Overview

This half-day bus tour from Paris takes about four and a half hours and includes round-trip transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle. You begin by redeeming your voucher at Pyramides in central Paris, then board the coach for a one-hour drive to the Palace of Versailles. Upon arrival, see the equestrian statue of Louis XIV on the Place d'Armes. A guide leads you through the King and Queen’s State Apartments, showing the luxurious rooms they used. You will also visit the Hall of Mirrors, built in 1678, which connects the Salon de la Guerre and Salon de la Paix. After the palace tour, there is about one hour of free time to walk in the palace gardens. You can see many royal statues, busts, and sculptures while enjoying the formal landscaping. During summer weekends, an optional fountain show takes place on Saturday nights, featuring music from the era of Louis XIV and fountains that display three centuries of French garden design. The tour returns to Paris passing through the suburbs, ending near the Joan of Arc statue at Pyramides. A qualified guide interprets the tour except on the first Sunday of each month, when an audio guide is provided instead.
