Overview

This guided e-bike tour covers 14 to 15 miles around the Poipu and Koloa areas on Kauai over about 2 to 3 hours. Riders use Specialized Turbo Como electric bikes that provide pedal assistance to make cycling easier. The tour starts early in the morning at Shipwreck Beach, where participants receive bike setup, instructions, and safety information. The route includes stops at 5 to 6 locations for photo opportunities and brief talks about local history, Hawaiian folklore, and current community events. Stops include Koloa Plantation, the last sugar mill still operating in Koloa, where the guide explains the plantation’s history and the ethnic groups that worked there. Next is a short visit to Saint Raphael Catholic Church, the oldest Catholic church on Kauai, built in 1841. The tour also pauses at Prince Kuhio’s Birthplace to discuss his role in Hawaiian history. The group visits Spouting Horn to learn about the blowhole’s history and related folklore; restrooms and a water fountain are available here. The ride passes Hanaka‘ape Bay, a former busy port, with commentary on its significance. Finally, the tour stops at Poipu Beach, known as a family-friendly beach on Kauai. The group size is limited to seven to keep the experience personal, with knowledgeable local guides leading the route. Each bike has an audio system for safety prompts and guide commentary during the ride. Helmets and waterproof bags are provided.
