Travelers board either the vintage TSS Earnslaw or the Spirit of Queenstown for a scenic cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm. The boat ride takes about 90 minutes each way and includes live commentary throughout the crossing. Upon reaching Walter Peak, guests meet a local host who leads a farm tour lasting around two hours. Visitors see farm animals such as sheep, alpacas, cattle, and working dogs. A live farm dog demonstration is part of the tour, showing how these animals assist in daily farm work. The visit concludes with a country-style afternoon tea featuring homemade scones and tea, served in the farm’s garden area. Guests have free time to explore the grounds and spend more time with the animals before returning by boat to Queenstown. Arrival for check-in is recommended 20 minutes before departure. Between May 19 and October 1, 2025, the Spirit of Queenstown catamaran replaces the TSS Earnslaw due to scheduled maintenance.
