Overview

This guided diving tour lasts about five and a half hours and includes hotel pickup and drop-off from Reykjavik. After a 45-minute drive to Thingvellir National Park, the group of up to three divers receives drysuits and diving gear with instructions. Changing takes place in a heated van, and the guide explains safety and the geology of the area. The dive lasts between 30 and 45 minutes and covers the four main sections of Silfra: the Big Crack, Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon. Divers will have the chance to touch the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates underwater. Hot chocolate and cookies are provided after the dive. The drysuit and warm undersuit help divers stay warm in the glacial water, which offers over 100 meters of visibility. The entrance fee to Silfra is included.
