Overview

This half-day bus tour departs from Praça dos Restauradores in Lisbon and lasts about five and a half hours. The group travels by air-conditioned vehicle to Sintra, with a drive that can take between 20 minutes and one hour depending on traffic. The first stop is the center of Sintra village, where participants have approximately 45 minutes to walk through the streets and try the local pastry called Travesseiro. Next, the tour visits Quinta da Regaleira for a guided 90-minute walk through its gardens, grottoes, and symbolic architecture. Entrance fees for Quinta da Regaleira are prepaid by the operator and reimbursed in cash on the day of the tour. The final stop is the exterior terraces of Pena Palace, located on a mountain. The visit lasts about 90 minutes and includes a guided tour of the terraces, allowing visitors to avoid lines inside while viewing the palace’s colorful architecture and surrounding landscape. The entrance fee for Pena Palace terraces is also prepaid and reimbursed in cash on the tour day. Walking on uneven and hilly paths is required at both Quinta da Regaleira and Pena Palace, including some uphill sections. The tour concludes with a return to the original meeting point in Lisbon. Snacks are included. If either Quinta da Regaleira or Pena Palace is closed, the itinerary changes to visits of the National Palace of Sintra and Queluz Palace instead. The group size is limited to eight travelers, and the tour operates rain or shine with safety as a priority.

Meeting point

Just outside the Hard Rock Cafe at Restauradores Square, Av. da Liberdade 2, 1250-144, Lisbon. ‼️ We recommend waiting near Door No. 12, Patek Philippe Boutique Lisbon, on the main avenue (Av. da Liberdade), not the small street going downhill. This helps avoid the busy main entrance.‼️

End point

The meeting point is next to the Hard Rock Cafe Lisbon, in the building beside it, near the Chaumet Lisbon store. ‼️ We recommend waiting near Door No. 12, Chaumet Lisbon, on the main avenue (Av. da Liberdade), not the small street going downhill. This helps avoid the busy main entrance.‼️
