This three-hour walking tour focuses on the art and history of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The visit begins at the Vatican Museums, which stretch across more than five miles of corridors and display artworks spanning the last 2,000 years, including pieces like Rodin's "Thinker." The tour continues through the Cortile della Pigna, where the large bronze pinecone sculpture is located. Guests will also see the "Sphere within a Sphere," a metal sculpture by Arnaldo Pomodoro. The itinerary includes the Stanze di Raffaello, the four rooms painted by Raphael and his workshop between 1508 and 1524, part of the papal apartments originally used by Pope Julius II. Due to crowd control and timing, visiting the Raphael Rooms cannot be guaranteed on every tour. The visit culminates in the Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo's ceiling frescoes and "The Last Judgment" cover about 10,000 square feet.
