The vehicle used is a Jeep YJ that seats up to seven people. The tour operator holds special permits from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Bureau of Land Management to operate in these protected areas. Bottled water is provided during the tour. The route includes stops at Tonto National Forest, Pinnacle Peak Park - a granite summit in Scottsdale - and Reata Pass, the remains of an 1880s western stagecoach station. Participants should prepare for a bumpy ride over rough terrain and must wear closed-toed shoes. The tour requires guests to be able to climb a step ladder to enter the lifted Jeep.
