This sumo tournament tour offers the chance to watch Japan’s national sport live during one of the six official Grand Sumo Tournaments held annually in Tokyo (January, May, September), Osaka (March), Nagoya (July), and Fukuoka (November). Depending on the chosen location and date, the tour runs about 4 hours at the tournament venue, where guests sit in reserved seats ranging from S-class and A-class near the ring to B and C-class seats on the second floor. An English-speaking guide with expert knowledge provides live commentary and explanations of the matches, sumo rituals, and wrestler backgrounds, using audio headsets for clear sound. The tour is available as a join-in group for 15 to 20 guests, with a minimum of 15 participants needed for the tour to operate; otherwise, a full refund is issued. Outside the tournament season, there is an option to visit a sumo stable near Warabi Station to observe morning training up close. This off-season option includes an expert guide with audio headsets, a meeting with wrestlers, tea time, and concludes with a chanko nabe lunch. This option does not include tournament tickets. An optional chanko hot pot dinner at a local restaurant can be added, with vegetarian choices available upon prior request. The tour does not include hotel pickup or transportation, and meals and drinks are not included unless the dinner option is selected at checkout.
