Overview

This 5-hour tour begins with pickup from your accommodation in the Taormina area at 10:00 AM by a licensed English-speaking guide. Travel in an air-conditioned 8-seat Mercedes minivan to Forza d'Agro, a small Sicilian village where scenes from The Godfather were filmed. Take a one-hour walking tour of Forza d'Agro’s old town while learning about Sicilian culture and the real history of the Mafia, including its structure, bosses, and development in Sicily after World War II. Next, drive to Savoca, another Sicilian village featured in The Godfather. Visit Bar Vitelli, where Michael Corleone met his future father-in-law, and walk to Saint Lucy Church, the wedding site in the film. The guide will explain the Mafia’s growth, clan wars, and the efforts of officers Falcone and Borsellino to uncover Mafia connections with politicians. After the walking tour, enjoy a typical Sicilian pasta lunch with bruschetta and a glass of red wine served on a panoramic terrace. After lunch, the minivan returns you to your accommodation in Taormina, Giardini Naxos, or Letojanni, with an expected arrival around 3:00 PM. The tour is available as a shared small group with up to eight guests or as a private tour for your party.
