This one-hour activity in Tokyo begins by selecting a kimono and hakama to wear as a samurai costume. Participants change into the outfit in a setting resembling a traditional dojo filled with samurai armor, swords, and spears on display. A professional instructor, experienced in Japanese film and television, teaches how to draw, hold, swing, and retract a sword. After learning basic sword techniques, participants practice a simple sword fight called chambara. The session concludes with a choreographed exercise to music simulating an attack on bad guys. Visitors can take photos and videos with the samurai instructor during the activity. The experience welcomes individual participants and allows same-day bookings. All fees, taxes, samurai costume rental, and professional instruction are included, but private transportation is not provided.
