Overview

Rome’s historic center includes the Jewish Ghetto and Trastevere, two traditional neighborhoods with deep history and local character. This half-day walking tour lasts about three hours and is led by a professional guide. Guests start at Largo di Torre Argentina, where Julius Caesar was assassinated, then enter the Jewish Ghetto through Piazza Mattei, stopping at the Fontana delle Tartarughe to examine its multicolored marble and learn about the area's long history. The route continues past the large synagogue on Isola Tiberina (Tiber Island), crossing the Tiber River while offering views of several bridges.
