Overview

Start this full-day cycling tour by boarding a train in Paris to reach Versailles with your guide. The first stop is the Versailles Farmers Market, where the guide gives a brief tour of food stalls before you have 30 minutes to select picnic supplies. Then, cycle through the 2,000-acre Royal Domaine, passing wheat fields, trimmed trees, and green forests where royalty once hunted. Next, visit the Grand Trianon, a summer residence built by Louis 14th, with access included to explore its interiors and gardens. Continue cycling to Marie-Antoinette’s private farm village, the Hameau de la Reine, where you walk on farm paths, see thatched-roof buildings, and can pet animals like sheep, pigs, and goats. Pause for a picnic lunch on the grassy banks near the Grand Canal, overlooking the largest lake in Versailles. After lunch, visit the Petit Trianon, once owned by Madame de Pompadour and later Marie-Antoinette, with included entrance to see the rooms she used. Ride through the Royal forests that surround Versailles, then stop at the Basin d’Apollon fountain, known for its representation of the Sun God. Finish the tour with a timed entrance to the Palace of Versailles, where you can spend as long as you like inside, including visiting the Hall of Mirrors. All train tickets, timed palace entry, and entrance to the chateaux, as well as bike rental, are included. The total tour lasts about eight hours and is conducted in a small group with an expert guide.
