Overview

This guided bicycle tour covers major Washington DC monuments at night over about three hours. Participants meet 15 minutes before the tour at Unlimited Biking, 701 D Street NW, where they are fitted with a bike, helmet, safety lights, and reflective vest. The ride begins near the Washington Monument, where the guide explains the monument’s two-tone stone before cycling by the south side of the White House. The route includes stops at the National World War II Memorial, Constitution Gardens, and the Vietnam Women’s Memorial, with the guide providing historical details at each. Riders then visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, walking along the wall, followed by the Lincoln Memorial, where the guide shares design facts and myths before guests climb the steps for views. The tour continues to the Korean War Veterans Memorial and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, where the group pauses outside before walking through the Mountain of Despair. Next, the tour cycles around the Tidal Basin to the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, where participants walk their bikes through four themed rooms and can touch the statue of FDR’s dog for luck. The final stop is the Jefferson Memorial, with views across the Tidal Basin and an explanation of the cleared trees that maintain Jefferson’s view of the White House. The tour ends back in downtown Washington DC after covering about five miles. The company provides bicycles and equipment for all ages and sizes, including trailers for young children who cannot ride on their own.
