Riders of all experience levels are welcome, though the ride is designed to be easy-going and suitable for beginners. The horses used are Icelandic, known for their calm nature and sure-footedness on uneven terrain. Most of the ride is at walking pace, but riders who are comfortable can try the tölt, a unique gait of the Icelandic horse. In summer, it is possible to see puffins flying overhead, while winter offers changing weather that shows the rugged landscape in different ways. Helmets are provided for safety. Riders must weigh no more than 100 kg (220 lb) and be at least 10 years old. Arriving 15 minutes before the start is required.
Arrival Time: 15 minutes before departure, dressed ready for the weather of the day. If you are late, it is not possible to delay the tour for you. Meeting point: our stable at Smiðjuvegur 6, 870 in Vík. Access is through the Orkan petrol station, opposite Hotel Kría.
