This small-group glacier hike at Sólheimajökull offers an optional introduction to ice climbing suitable for all skill levels. Groups are limited to eight participants per certified glacier guide, who provides necessary safety instruction and geological information. The hike covers about 3 to 4 kilometers on uneven terrain and includes all glacier safety equipment such as harness, helmet, crampons, and ice axe. Optional ice climbing gives beginners a chance to climb an ice wall under expert supervision. The tour lasts approximately 4 and a half hours. For departures from Reykjavík, the tour includes stops at Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls, along with South Coast views, with transportation provided. Food and drinks are not included.
