Overview

The tour departs from Galway at 10:00 AM and lasts about eight hours. The first stop is a photo opportunity near Inagh Valley. The main visit is to Kylemore Abbey and the Victorian Walled Gardens, where visitors spend approximately two hours. Admission to Kylemore Abbey is not included and must be paid in cash to the driver. This fee covers entrance to the Abbey, the shuttle bus to the gardens, and access to the Neo-Gothic Church. On site, there is a restaurant where lunch can be purchased and a gift shop. After Kylemore Abbey, the tour continues through Connemara, including a stop at Killary Fjord, Ireland’s only true fjord, and a scenic route passing the valleys of Connemara via Lough Nafooey. The tour then arrives in Cong village, allowing a 45-minute break to explore the ruins of the Royal Abbey of Cong, walk in Cong Woods, and see streets associated with the movie The Quiet Man. The tour returns to Galway around 6:00 PM. A professional English-speaking driver-guide leads the tour, providing live commentary throughout. The bus is air-conditioned. Food, drinks, entrance fees, gratuities, and pickup from locations other than the main departure point are not included. Kylemore Abbey is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from November 7 to December 23, 2023, and from January 8 to February 5, 2024; the tour does not operate on those days.
