Overview

Galway is the starting point for this full-day bus tour traveling south to the Cliffs of Moher. The trip includes a scenic drive through the Burren National Park, where the guide will explain the region’s exposed limestone landscape, jagged cliffs, and rare plants. The tour stops at Dunguaire Castle, a 16th-century castle on Galway Bay, where guests can take photos from outside since the castle itself is closed to visitors. Next, the tour pauses at Aillwee Cave. Guests may join a guided cave tour to see the karst formations inside (entrance fee not included). The main feature is the Cliffs of Moher, which rise 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean and extend for about 8 kilometers along County Clare’s coast. Visitors have about 90 minutes to walk the paths and observe the cliffs and seabird colonies, including over 30,000 birds from 20 species. Afterward, there is a lunch break in Doolin village, where the driver/guide can suggest local restaurants for an Irish meal. The return route to Galway follows the Wild Atlantic Way, offering multiple photo stops of the coastline and landscapes, including views of Galway Bay. The tour lasts about 8 hours and includes hotel pickup (if requested 24 hours in advance), a local guide, and air-conditioned transport. Food, drinks, gratuities, cave entrance fees, and hotel drop-off are not included.
