Itinerary

1

Piazza dei Miracoli

This square contains four main monuments: the Baptistery, Cathedral, Leaning Tower, and Cemetery. Visitors can explore these sites, take photos with the Leaning Tower in the background, and experience the area for about 90 minutes.

90 min

2

Battistero di San Giovanni

The Pisa Baptistery is a Roman Catholic building begun in 1152 and completed in 1363, located in Piazza dei Miracoli. Its architecture creates a notable echo effect, demonstrated every 30 minutes by staff. The sound travels throughout the interior, rising in pitch like a choir.

30 min

3

Duomo di Pisa

The Pisa Cathedral, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, is a notable example of Romanesque architecture, specifically the Pisan Romanesque style. Visitors spend about 30 minutes here.

30 min

4

Leaning Tower of Pisa

Known worldwide for its nearly four-degree tilt due to an unstable foundation, the Leaning Tower is the bell tower behind the Pisa Cathedral and the third oldest structure in the Cathedral Square. The visit is an exterior view lasting about 15 minutes.

15 min

5

Galleria dell'Accademia

This gallery houses Michelangelo’s David sculpture along with other sculptures and paintings by Florentine artists. Visitors spend approximately 45 minutes inside viewing these works.

45 min

6

Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore

The Florence Cathedral, built beginning in 1296 and completed in 1436, features Brunelleschi’s dome. Its exterior is decorated with polychrome marble panels and a 19th-century Gothic Revival façade. The visit here is from outside and lasts about 15 minutes.

15 min

7

Battistero Di San Giovanni

Located opposite the Cathedral, this Romanesque Baptistery dates from the 5th century with its current form from the 11th-12th centuries. It has an octagonal plan, marble decoration, and three gilded bronze doors, known as the Gates of Paradise by Michelangelo. The visit lasts about 15 minutes.

15 min

8

Giotto's Bell Tower

Next to Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral stands Giotto’s Bell Tower, a Gothic tower with a square base about 15 meters per side and a height of 84.7 meters. The visit is an exterior view lasting about 15 minutes.

15 min

9

Piazza della Signoria

This square has been the center of Florence’s political life since the 14th century. It features sculptures related to Florence's history, including the original location of Michelangelo's David and Bandinelli's Hercules and Cacus. Visitors spend about 30 minutes here.

30 min

10

Ponte Vecchio

The Ponte Vecchio bridge crosses the Arno River and was the only crossing until 1218. The Vasari Corridor, built in 1565 above the bridge, allowed the Medici to move safely between palaces. The current goldsmith shops replaced butchers’ shops in 1593. The stop here lasts about 15 minutes.

15 min

11

Piazzale Michelangelo

This square offers a panoramic view of Florence’s city center, including its monuments. It features a copy of Michelangelo’s David and four allegorical statues from the Medici Chapels. Visitors spend about 15 minutes here.
