Overview

This about six-hour bus tour begins with a drive through San Francisco’s diverse neighborhoods, including Chinatown, North Beach, and Pacific Heights. The guide, a Bay Area native, shares insights about living in the city. There are photo stops in each neighborhood, including a 15-minute pause in Pacific Heights to see Billionaire’s Row and the Mrs. Doubtfire house. The tour continues with stops at Fort Point National Historic Site and the Golden Gate Bridge, each allowing 15 minutes for photos and views. After crossing the bridge, the group visits Muir Woods National Monument for a 75-minute walk among towering redwood trees. Next is a one-hour stop in Sausalito, an artistic waterfront town, where guests can have lunch at their own expense. A 10-minute visit to the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre concludes the city sightseeing. If the Alcatraz option was selected and booked at least four days ahead, the tour includes a two-hour visit to Alcatraz Island with admission and a 90-minute audio tour. The ferry departs at 3:20pm after a 2:45pm drop-off at the dock. Bottled water and a snack are included throughout the tour. Entrance fees to Muir Woods and other locations are not included unless the Alcatraz ticket is selected.
