Participants begin by receiving land-based instruction and getting fitted with safety gear at the kayak shop. After choosing a single or double kayak, they paddle at their own pace through the shallow, clear waters of the mangrove ecosystem near Key Largo. Over about two hours, kayakers move over sponges, seagrass beds, and sandy areas, with chances to see nurse sharks, turtles, stingrays, dolphins, and manatees below the water. Birds like herons, pelicans, and ospreys can be spotted resting on and hunting around the mangroves. A local guide provides on-water coaching throughout the tour. While wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, the estuary environment offers regular opportunities to observe various species in their natural habitat.

Please arrive 30 minutes early for your tour so that you can be prepared to start at the designated tour time. We strive to start our tours on time. Come in and shop for any last minute essentials. Our guide will welcome you, complete any paperwork, and get you fitted for a life jacket. We have changing rooms and showers for afterwards. This is where the adventure begins and ends. We are very fortunate to be located on some of the best paddling waters in the Upper Keys area.
