Overview

This 2-hour wildlife tour takes place in the Naples area, focusing on dolphin watching, birding, and shell collecting. A Florida Master Naturalist leads the boat into the 10,000 Islands Wildlife Refuge, providing an interpretive narration about the local ecosystem, its history, and natural features. The guide points out wildlife such as dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, bald eagles, ospreys, herons, egrets, pelicans, rosette spoonbills, and various fish and shore birds depending on the season. The tour includes a stop at an uninhabited barrier island beach where participants can search for shells, sand dollars, and other beach finds. The route and wildlife sightings vary with the seasons and environmental conditions, so each tour is unique. Guests are advised to bring cameras, binoculars, snacks, drinks, hats, and sunglasses. Morning tours are recommended from June through October due to weather patterns. Bottled water, gratuities, and parking fees are not included.
