Overview

This 3-hour small-group bike tour covers several central Paris neighborhoods, focusing on charming nooks and crannies along mostly flat, low-traffic side streets. The ride begins in Saint Germain des Prés and continues through the Latin Quarter, Odéon, and Luxembourg areas. Local guides provide historical context and anecdotes throughout the tour. The route then explores The Marais district, including its medieval Jewish and gay neighborhoods. Riders visit key historical sites such as the 500-year-old City Hall, the first King’s square of Paris, and the 500-year-old private mansion of the Sens archbishops, who governed Paris for a thousand years. The tour also stops at the 700-year-old King’s palace where Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were sentenced, Paris’ oldest bridge, and the literary neighborhood favored by Hemingway and Fitzgerald in the 1920s. The final stop is the Luxembourg Gardens area, known for its association with Parisian bankers, the French Senate, and the lovers’ fountain. The tour includes the use of lightweight, comfortable bicycles with seven gears, helmets (optional), and one experienced guide. Food and drinks are not included. Participants should be at least 13 years old and 150 cm tall. The tour is suitable for all fitness levels and lasts three hours.
