This two-hour perfume masterclass takes place in a historic workshop in Florence, Italy. Participants meet a master perfumer who explains the techniques and secrets of the Florentine alchemy tradition related to perfumery. The session begins with a welcome visit to the Antica Spezieria Erboristeria San Simone store and its artisanal laboratory. Afterward, the master perfumer provides an introduction to the history of perfumery in Florence. Participants then use a kit of essences to make their own personal fragrance. The workshop includes a coffee break with complimentary coffee, tea, or water. Each person receives a 30ml bottle of their personalized perfume and a certificate at the end. The activity requires participants over 12 years old to present proof of Covid-19 vaccination, recent infection, or a negative test taken within 48 hours before the start. Gratuities, hotel pickup and drop-off, and transportation to and from the workshop are not included.

Meet your master perfumer at Antica Erboristeria San Simone and get ready for a sensory experience! The lesson will take place in a historic, atmospheric workshop dating back to 1700. In centuries of experience this historic lab has mixed the scientific knowledge of medical care together with the empirical knowledge of the healing properties of herbs, flowers and fruits. You will relive the magical atmosphere of alchemists and apothecaries residing in Florence during the Renaissance period, surrounded by unique glassware, ampules and rare essences. Following the historical footprints of Catherine de Medici and René le Florentine, your master perfumer will guide you through the process which will ultimately lead to the creation of your unique personal fragrance. At the end of the workshop you will be rewarded with a 30ml bottle of your own personalized perfume. Each participant will also receive a certificate as a memory of the day.
