Overview

This guided day trip lasts about four hours, starting with pickup at one of three designated meeting points in Valencia: NH Valencia Center, Torres de Serranos, or Ciudad de la Justicia. After boarding the vehicle with air conditioning, the group travels to La Vall d'Uixò to visit the San Jose Caves, home to Europe's largest underground river. The main activity inside the caves takes approximately one hour, including a boat ride across the underground river. Visitors will see natural limestone formations such as stalactites and stalagmites while learning about the cave’s history and geology from a professional guide who speaks English, Spanish, Italian, or Polish. The boat ride is led by a guide-boatman who points out notable features along the route; this guide may speak Spanish. Following the cave visit, there is a 30-minute break to explore an Iberian Roman settlement nearby, use the facilities, visit bars or shops, or rest in the natural surroundings. Food and drinks are not included but can be brought along. The temperature inside the caves remains steady at around 20ºC. Transportation back to the original meeting points in Valencia is included. Photography is only allowed in specific areas without flash to protect cave wildlife.
