This four-hour hiking tour takes you onto an outlet of the Vatnajökull glacier near Skaftafell Nature Reserve. The group is small and led by certified English-speaking glacier guides who provide information about the glacier’s ice formations while ensuring safety throughout the hike. You will use glacier equipment including a harness, helmet, crampons, and ice axe as you walk on the ice. A key part of the tour is entering a blue ice cave, a rare natural feature found mainly in Iceland. The tour includes coffee and chocolates and free parking is available. Rental gear such as hiking boots, waterproof jacket, and pants are not included and must be paid for separately if needed. Food and drinks beyond the provided coffee and chocolates are also not included.
