Book on Viator Confirmed right away, but you pay full price.₩124,000This 90-minute tasting session focuses on soju, a traditional Korean distilled spirit, and also includes samples of other Korean alcohol types. Korean alcoholic beverages are grouped into Tak-ju (unfiltered rice wine), Cheong-ju (clear filtered rice wine), and So-ju (distilled spirit). The tasting highlights Samhae soju, once favored by the Joseon dynasty nobility from 1392 to 1894. Production of this rice-intensive spirit was halted during famines due to resource shortages. The current master distiller, Hyeonjong Kim, has over a decade of training under the late master Taeksang Kim, who preserved the original family recipe until his passing in 2021. Participants will sample the soju and learn about its history and traditional crafting methods. The session takes place at the distillery in Seoul and includes alcoholic beverages as part of the experience. Private group reservations can be arranged on request.
