Overview

This two-hour Taster Bodyboard Lesson takes place on the coastline of Newquay, Cornwall. It is designed for complete beginners and those looking to improve their bodyboarding skills. The lesson is led by a professional, qualified instructor who provides individual guidance within a small group setting. All necessary bodyboarding equipment is included. The session begins with an introduction to bodyboards, explaining that they are smaller and lighter than surfboards, making them easier to handle and less tiring. The foam construction of the boards also reduces the risk of injury compared to traditional surfboards. Within the first ten minutes, participants will learn to catch their first white-water wave. Instruction covers paddling techniques, wave selection, and maintaining proper trim on the board. As the lesson continues, participants progress from riding broken white-water waves to catching green, unbroken waves. The teaching focuses on fast skill development through practical coaching and time spent in the water. The lesson is held in reasonable weather conditions and is suitable for children over eight years old.
