Overview

This 2-day hiking tour follows the Short Inca Trail from Cusco to Machu Picchu. It begins with a train ride to kilometer 104, where the hike starts. The trail passes through the Inca sites of Chachabamba and Wiñaywayna before reaching Intipunku, known as the Sun Gate, in the late afternoon. Here, participants see Machu Picchu at sunset with fewer visitors. After descending, the group takes a bus to Aguas Calientes for an overnight stay in a shared twin room at a 3-star hotel. On the second day, the tour starts early with a bus ride back up to Machu Picchu to explore the ruins at sunrise during a guided visit. The guide provides detailed information about the site and its surroundings. After the visit, participants return to Cusco on the panoramic Vistadome train, which offers scenic views along the route. The tour includes lunch, dinner, and breakfast, as well as safety equipment such as a satellite phone, first-aid kit, and oxygen tank. Entrance tickets for the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu are provided. Hotel pickup and drop-off are available from Cusco or the Sacred Valley (Urubamba or Ollantaytambo). A safety briefing is held the day before the hike, and luggage storage is included.
