This four-day hiking tour follows the Inca Quarry Trail, a less crowded route built by the Incas 500 years ago and still used by local communities today. The trek starts in Cusco and includes views of waterfalls, lakes, petroglyphs, and native plants and animals. Along the way, you visit the largest Inca Quarry and the remote Sun Gate overlooking the Sacred Valley. You will also spend time with villagers in Cachiccata to learn about their lifestyle. The trek lasts about 96 hours and includes professional English-speaking guides and a chef who prepares all meals. Transfers are provided from the airport to your hotel, and a hotel pickup is included before the trek begins. Train transportation includes a round trip, with one leg on the Vistadome panoramic train. Accommodation is in 4-man tents shared between two people. Porters carry food and equipment, and each trekker receives a personal porter for up to 7 kg of personal gear. Transportation throughout the entire trip is covered, including buses to and from Machu Picchu. Groups of eight or more receive a second guide. A pre-departure briefing is held the night before the trek at 6 pm. Entrance fees and meals outside the included ones are not covered. Optional equipment such as mattresses, sleeping bags, and trekking poles are available with guidance from the operator. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and any dietary requirements or vegetarian options should be communicated when booking. Passport details are required at booking and must be valid on the day of travel.

Departure will be from your hotel around 7:00 am and drive to the Sacred Valley until the community of Racca, where we start a 3-hour hike, visiting the petroglyphs of Pachar, the Inca shrine of Ñaupa Iglesia, and visit the village of Soccma, a place where lunch is waiting. The second part of your trek is a 3-hour hike uphill to Perolniyoc; which is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Cusco with its drop of 328 feet in the rock. To finally arrive at Q’orimarca (also know as Rayanpata), a beautiful archeological site, and spent the night in the surroundings.

Wake you up early in the morning with a cup of coffee in your tent. After breakfast, it will be a 4-hour uphill to Charkahuaylla (4450m/14599ft) the highest point of this trek. At the summit, our tour guide will perform a traditional offering ceremony to the mountain Apus. we will enjoy lunch at the banks of a beautiful lake to later start climbing our second and last mountain; Buena Negra (4370m/14300ft). Upon we reach the summit we will be rewarded with a spectacular view of the Sacred Valley making this trip a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As we continue downhill for 2 more hours to Intipunku (sun gate), this is one of the most breathtaking places overlooking straight to the veronica mountain. Our campsite is just a few minutes down, called Choquetacarpo (3600m/11811ft) right in the middle of the Inca Quarry.

Awakening in an extraordinary place facing the sunrise it’s a perfect day, The hike is all downhill, with our first stop at the Cachiccata Quarry; the biggest Quarry in the Inca empire. This quarry was abandoned together with Machu Picchu and many other Incan sites due to the Spanish invasion. We will stop for lunch and interact with local villagers at the Cachiccata community, where our private bus will be waiting to take us to Ollantaytambo to explore the City and have dinner in a local Restaurant to later take the train to Aguas Calientes where we spent the night

On our final day, we have to get up very early to prepare for Machu Picchu and take the bus. Your guide will take you on a 2 to 3-hour comprehensive tour of the city before leaving you in Machu Picchu to explore on your own or climb either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (must be booked as far in advance as possible). Your guide will explain how to take the bus from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes for lunch and take the train and bus back to Cusco.
