Overview

This is a 2-day hiking trek starting with a hotel pickup in Cusco and a pre-departure briefing. The group travels by private transport to the trailhead near Soraypampa. On the first day, hikers walk to Humantay Lake, which is known for its bright turquoise waters. The trail passes through Andean landscapes and takes about three hours to reach the lake. After visiting the lake, the trek continues to the Sky Camp base, where participants spend one night. The camp includes private dining and camping facilities with tables and chairs. Dinner and lunch are provided on the first day, along with snacks, tea, and water throughout the trek. Basic hiking equipment such as trekking poles, sleeping bags, and hand towels are included. A personal duffel bag with a capacity of up to five kilograms is provided for carrying travel gear. On the second day, after breakfast at the camp, the group hikes over the Salkantay Pass, which is the highest and most challenging part of the trek. The pass offers panoramic views of high-altitude mountains and valleys. After descending from the pass, the group returns to Cusco by private transport. Breakfast is included on the second day, but dinner is not. Optional horseback rides are available on both days but are not included in the tour price. An experienced mountain guide leads the group and carries safety equipment such as oxygen, walkie-talkies, and a first aid kit. Entry tickets to both the Salkantay Trek and Humantay Lake are included. Hotel pickup and drop-off in Cusco are arranged by private transport.
