Overview

This three-hour wildlife tour in Juneau starts with a coach bus ride from downtown at the Mt. Roberts Tram parking lot. The bus travels about 25 minutes through Southeast Alaska’s landscape to reach Auke Bay Harbor. From there, the group boards a custom jet boat or catamaran for a two-hour whale watching trip in Alaska waters. The main focus is spotting humpback whales feeding, but sea lions, bald eagles, and orcas may also appear. A naturalist guide is on board to provide information throughout the boat portion. A light snack and refreshments are included during the tour. On the return trip to Juneau, there is a photo stop to view the Mendenhall Glacier, weather permitting. The boat has a heated cabin with large windows, spacious decks for viewing, and bathrooms. Round-trip transport between the port and boat harbor is included, and multiple departure times are offered for convenience.
