Overview

This 4-day, 3-night hiking tour follows a remote trail in the Lares region near Cusco, passing through isolated mountain villages like Cancha Cancha, which has no road access. Trekkers walk along high-altitude paths with views of lakes and the surrounding landscape. The group stays in tents equipped with foam mattresses and pillows, with meals prepared by a chef using camping kitchen equipment. Horses and mules carry camping gear and personal items up to 7 kilograms. The tour includes a private guided visit to Machu Picchu and time at the hot springs in Lares. Transportation is provided between the hotel in Cusco and the trailhead in Huaran, as well as expedition train rides between Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes. The tour includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the trek, with the exception of the last lunch and dinner on day four, which are not included. A pre-trek briefing is held before the hike begins. The group is small, and guides speak English, Spanish, and Quechua. A hotel stay with private rooms, bathrooms, hot showers, wifi, storage, and buffet breakfast is included at the end of the trek. Safety equipment includes a first-aid kit and emergency oxygen tank, and a horse with helmet is available for participants who need assistance to complete the trek.
