Overview

The Mirissa Whale Watching tour with WWC takes place aboard the Queen Whale, a 60-foot by 20-foot luxury catamaran powered by two Yamaha 385hp engines, traveling at about 13 knots. Although the boat can hold up to 150 passengers, the tour limits the group to 45 people to ensure comfort and quality. The tour lasts approximately five hours and operates near Mirissa, close to Galle in southern Sri Lanka. The boat is captained by Manoj, who has over 25 years of sailing experience in the southern sea area and 13 years specifically in whale watching. During the tour, the crew searches for whales and dolphins in their natural environment. Whale sightings occur on about half of the trips, while dolphins are seen on roughly 90 percent. If whales are not spotted, the tour still offers a pleasant boat safari experience. The tour includes bottled water, tea, coffee, sea sick tablets, and breakfast. Sightings depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.

Current sighting conditions: Whales: ~50% Dolphins: ~90% At the moment, we can promise a beautiful ocean safari, and if we're lucky, we'll also see whales. We always do our best to find them. We also stop for about 30 minutes during the tour so you can enjoy a sea bath (please bring suitable clothes). At WWC ❤️, we follow ethical whale watching practices.
