Overview

This half-day rafting trip covers about 4 and a half hours along the Colorado River near Moab. The river passes through Castle Valley, a wide valley lined with notable rock formations such as Fisher Towers, Castleton Tower, and the Priest and Nuns. The water temperature typically remains warm from late spring through early fall, making for a comfortable float. The rafting route is mostly gentle with a few Class II rapids that provide brief moments of excitement and cooling splashes. A river guide leads the trip, sharing stories and explanations about the natural features along the way. The tour includes a safety briefing before departure, shuttle transport from the main Moab office, and all necessary equipment such as splash jackets and helmets if desired. River and land access fees are covered, and parking is free for participants. The equipment used is well maintained, and the trip leaders bring experience averaging 2,000 river miles. Gratuities are not included. The trip may be canceled if minimum participant numbers are not met, with options for an alternative or full refund. Service animals can join only if they wear a life jacket and the operator is notified in advance.
